REVERIE

The evening takes its name from the French word reverie, which describes a dreamy, contemplative, or reflective state.

Comprising two pieces, the program invites audiences into the world of desires, fears and dreams, to explore the depths of human experience.

SIRIUS

first half

The piece Sirius is inspired by Árpád Tóth’s poem From Soul to Soul, which portrays the challenges of connection using the metaphor of the vast distances between stars. The title refers to Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, symbolizing both the mystery of the distant unknown and a guiding beacon of hope. The piece examines the challenges of bridging distances, as well as the contrasts between light and darkness, while searching for an answer to Tóth’s poignant question: “Is it Sirius that lies farther from me, or a companion—oh, who can tell?”

FINE DAY

second half

At the heart of Fine Day are real, personal stories from young dancers, reflecting their inner worlds and the challenges of the wider world around them. These narratives unfold against Gen Z előd’s electronic music. The title takes its cue from Jane’s 1983 song It’s a Fine Day, bridging the questions of the past with the realities of today. Themes of uncertainty, overstimulation, identity struggles, shifting norms, and technological transformation parallel the spirit of the 1980s—a time marked by experimentation, rebellion, technological advances, and Cold War tensions. The piece aims to capture some of Gen Z’s experiences and qualities today—resilience in navigating uncertainty, appreciation of diversity, empathy, and collaboration, and their enduring hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Dóra Hegedűs

costume designer

Dóra Hegedűs has been consciously building her urban-inspired brand since her university years, focusing primarily on men's and unisex designs. Since 2019, the brand has been present in the Hungarian fashion scene under the name DÜSK.
The essence of the brand has always been shaped by the designer’s interest in various art forms: alternative theater, underground music subcultures, and contemporary visual arts.
In 2018, Dóra completed her studies in the Fashion and Textile Design master's program at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. Prior to that, she developed her skills through an Erasmus scholarship at the London College of Fashion, specializing in Menswear Design & Technology.
In addition to fashion, Dóra has a deep passion for costume design. As a freelance stylist, she works on music videos and commercials, and since 2019, she has been part of the costume design teams for several international film productions. Her portfolio includes projects such as the BAFTA and Oscar-winning Poor Things and the miniseries ERIC, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
Theater costume design is also a recurring element in Dóra’s work. During her university years, she designed costumes for the Vígszínház theater and the Tünet Ensemble. In 2022, under the DÜSK brand, she created costumes for a contemporary dance performance as part of the 59th Venice Biennale, marking her first solo costume design project.

Előd Abonyi

composer

Előd Abonyi is a 21-year-old electronic music artist from Baja, who began releasing his first productions in 2018 under the name “előd.”
Over the years, előd's musical style has undergone significant development, ranging from trap-inspired, hyperactive instrumentals to heart-wrenching, vocal ambient, and melodic club music built on heavily syncopated rhythms.
The unifying element in his work is his active participation in the underground electronic music scene and his sense of connection and collaboration with other artists.
He released his first full-length album at the age of 18, titled Az ifjú könnyei (The Tears of Youth), which explores his childhood and feelings of uncertainty and confusion about the world. The album's authenticity is enhanced by the fact that it was created while preparing for his final high school exams.
His main inspirations include the sudden, explosive release of accumulated emotions, regardless of genre, using simple tools. Előd's instrument of choice is the drum set, which manifests in his music as powerful and complex percussion.
Currently, he is studying sound engineering at the Szent György Technikum in Budapest.
